What we hold, why, and how to get rid of it.

What we store

• Your email address, and a password that is hashed — we never see the password itself.
• Your first name, last name and school, only if you type them into Settings.
• The questions you ask and the answers you receive.
• A count of how many questions you have asked this month.
• Whether you are on the free or paid plan, and a Stripe reference if you subscribe.
• A shortened, one-way hash of your IP address, used only to stop abuse. The address itself is never stored.

Photos you send

A photo is passed to the AI to answer your question, then discarded. Saved conversations note that a photo was attached but do not keep the image.

Who else sees it

• OpenAI receives your question in order to answer it.
• Supabase stores your account and conversations.
• Stripe handles payment. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us.
• Vercel hosts the site.

We do not sell your data and we do not show advertising.

Your control

From Settings you can download everything we hold as a file, delete every saved conversation, or delete your account outright. Deleting the account removes your conversations and cancels any subscription. It cannot be undone.

Storage on your device

We keep your sign-in session, your light or dark preference and a cached question count in your browser. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Age

Study Drill is built for school and university students. If you are under 16, ask a parent, carer or teacher before signing up.

Terms

The deal between you and Study Drill.

Your account

One account per person. Keep your password to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you.

Plans and payment

• Free includes 30 questions each calendar month, resetting on the 1st.
• Plus is $9 a month, or $72 a year, and lifts that limit. A fair-use ceiling still applies to protect the service.
• Cancel any time from Settings. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• We do not refund part-used periods, but if something goes genuinely wrong, get in touch.
• If prices change, existing subscribers are told before it affects them.

Answers can be wrong

Study Drill is an AI tutor, not a teacher and not a fact checker. It can be confidently wrong. Check anything that matters, and never rely on it for medical, legal or financial decisions.

Fair use

Do not use Study Drill to break the law, to harass anyone, to generate harmful material, or to resell access. Automated hammering of the service is blocked. Accounts doing these things can be closed.

Availability

This is a small service that depends on others. It may go down. We do not promise it will always be available, and our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the last twelve months.

Closing your account

You can delete your account whenever you like. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why.

Academic integrity

The part that matters most, if we are honest.

Study Drill exists to help you understand your work. It explains methods step by step and asks you questions back, rather than producing finished work for you to hand in. Asked for a full essay, it gives an outline and feedback instead.

Your responsibility

Your school, college or university sets the rules about AI, and those rules win. Submitting anything from Study Drill as your own work may count as academic misconduct, with real consequences. Check your institution's policy, and say when you have used AI if you are asked to.

Good use

• Getting a topic explained until it clicks.
• Finding the step where your working went wrong.
• Being asked questions to check you actually understand.
• Turning a long reading into something you can revise from.

Not what it is for

Having your homework, coursework or exam answers written for you. If you cannot explain it afterwards, you have not learned it — and that is the thing the grade is supposed to measure.
